FO: Filigree

Done! Though I haven't bothered with the blanket stitch edging around the thumb openings as it doesn't seem essential. (Photographed so my chipped nail polish doesn't show!!!)

No '2nd mitt syndrome' this time! I stayed up late last night to finish it.

This is a fun, quick pattern to try. The stitch pattern was completely new to me, but I had no trouble following the directions. The 4 row pattern repeat was easy to remember, but each row was just different enough to keep it interesting. So, I'd recommend it!

Yes, you can really see how pretty they are in this picture.

So pretty! Do you feel they keep your hands warm as much as the designs that are more tightly knit?

Hi

I had a question about the filigree pattern. I am also knitting these gloves, but mine just dont look the same as either the ones in the book or yours. I am a beginner knitter so this may be a really obvious mistake. I think I am going wrong in Rnd 2 in the openwork pattern, when I drop the extra wraps and then do the k4tog, I am really only k2tog, is that right? Then when its P4tog, should I actually include the extra wraps or should i drop them? Also what does it mean by p4tog "in to these 4"? I do end up with 4 stitches in the end but it just doesnt look right.

By the way, yours look really good!

I would really appreciate some help.
Thanks
Sinead

Sinead,
You want to make sure you k4tog and then p4tog into the *same* four stitches. It's a little tricky to hang onto the needles and do this with the yarn, but you get used to it. You will end up with 2 stitches on the new round for each set of 4. Have another look at the author's notes about how many stitches you will have at the end of the rounds, that is what made the pattern clear to me. I hope it works out for you! They are lovely mits.
