V-neck Sweater (Post 2)

Last night, I completed the back of the striped sweater I'm making from 'The Knitting Experience-Color'. I'm using Lion Brand wool-ease in chocolate brown and wheat on size 7 needles.

Fuzzy Moments

Bandit loves to hang out on the fleece dog beds:

He snuggles up close to Saffy:

His long hairs get up her nose and she rubs her face:

V-Neck Sweater

I started this sweater today and will write more about it soon!

Keeping the dog amused =)

What happened tonight when I was picking up scraps of yarn:

Saffy in pigtails!

(Saffy's really good at making faces just as I take the picture.)

Pictures!

It's time to put of pictures of my knitting on here! I got a lot done over the weekend. My husband has the flu and I feel like I have a bit of a cold, so it was good to just rest and knit.

This is a cabled glove I made a few weeks ago. It is my first attempt at glove making and I still have to do the left hand. I used a sport yarn from my grandmother's stash.
As promised, here is a picture of my very first sweater ever!! I still have to weave in the yarn ends (yes, I do seem to have trouble getting around to that on all my projects!!).

Here's a picture of the shrug I made over the weekend! The Lion Brand Thick and Quick yarn knitted up really fast. All I have left to do is weave in the yarn ends.

Chunky Shrug Update

I am almost finished with this! All I have left to do is about 3 inches of ribbing. It's gone together really fast over the weekend, but I'm wondering if anyone else has made this and what they think about the pattern. I noticed some issues with the pattern and had to improvise a bit. There's a link to the pattern listed under my projects to the right. I'll post pics soon.

Chunky Shrug In Progress!

It took a few rows to get used to the thick yarn called for by this pattern, but then the knitting went smoothly. So far, the back and one cuff are done. Well, this is just a short update as I want to get back to knitting!

'Saturday Sweater' (Post 3)

I am very nearly done! All that remains to do is fold over and stitch down the neckband and weave in ends. I would post a pic tonight, but it is too dark to get one in focus, so check back! I am so excited to have made my first sweater!!!

Rowan Book: Tuscan Retreat

I just ordered 'Tuscan Retreat'! I mainly bought it for the 'Lucia' pattern, a v-neck sweater shown in colors that look like mango, raspberry, lime, blueberry and strawberry sorbet. From the the picture, it looks like an easy sweater for a beginner and will get me used to changing yarn colors. Here's a pic of the sweater that I copied from the web (I hope it's ok to post it):

Last night, I purchased Issue 12 of Simply Knitting. I like the blue sweater on the cover! Apparently, it's from Rowan Magazine 39, but the complete pattern is published in Simply Knitting as well.

'Saturday' Sweater (Post 2)

Only one more sleeve to go! Then, I have to figure out how to attach them to the body. I will be finished soon =)

First Comment

I got my first comment last night! It's so neat that someone actually visited my new blog already.

Fuzzie Wuzzies

Do you like animals? I love my pets! I have two dogs (a yellow lab and a black lab mix) and one cat. Here are a couple of pics:

'The Knitting Experience - Color'

This book is a new addition to my knitting library. I would like to make almost all the projects in this book! I'd better start knitting faster =)

I'm planning to make the striped, v-neck sweater for spring/summer. I love the princess seamed sweater! My husband wants me to make the men's sweaters for him too.

My Next Project - Shrug

I have the pattern and yarn for a chunky shrug that I will knit with Lion Brand thick & quick wool-ease in 'fisherman'. Check back for photos!

'Saturday' Sweater

I am currently knitting my first sweater! It's a casual tunic from a pattern book called Saturday Sweaters. I am using Lion Brand wool-ease in black (trim) and charcoal gray (body). So far, the body is completed and I am about half done with one of the sleeves. Here's a progress pic:

You can't tell from this pic, but the ribbing is a neat design made with a sequence of stitches including: "slip 1, k1, yo, psso".

My NEW Knitting Blog

I love knitting! I only started on December 28th, 2005, but I am already able to do quite a few different things. I think a blog will be a good way for me to keep track of what I've done as well as plan new projects.
