Scenic Pic

Hanging Rock is a pretty view we bike past fairly often. It is a remnant of a former shoreline that existed when sea level was higher. The hanging part is wave cut. It really stands out in the landscape and it was likely an important landmark for Native Americans.

I've never seen that before -- it's very striking against the sky. I like the yellow field in front of it.

Wow, I've never seen or heard of this local Hanging Rock. Very cool. (Though the name reminds of an Australian movie that I liked a lot and my husband hated, called Picnic at Hanging Rock.)
