Jamestown Bike Ride

We met up with She Knits By the Seashore and C yesterday afternoon for a bike ride around Conanicut Island. It was an opportunity for C to preview the route of an upcoming race as well as just being a nice ride. We had dinner out at Yesterday's in Newport afterward. Talking over dinner, Jeff and I became even more convinced that we will have to get road bikes in addition to our mountain bikes!!

Here's a pic of the Jamestown windmill.

The windmill and especially the clouds remind me of Dutch paintings like those by the 17th century artist Jacob van Ruisdael.

You have ridden so far!! It sounds longer in kilometres: 576!!! I thought, at first, your photo was an old painting, it has that olde worlde quality!!

The Jamestown windmill photo does look like a painting! There was an article recently in, I think, Yankee Magazine, about the artist couple who lives on the grounds there.

Yes, I wasn't sure if the first photo was a painting or a photo! Congratulations on meeting your goals -- you should be very proud.
