While watching Monarch of the Glen last night, I cast on and worked the first four rows of ribbing for a chunky, cable handbag. So far, so good!

Weekend Knitting
I finished the blue mittens on Sunday afternoon. They came out well, so I am going to give them away as a Christmas gift (to someone who doesn't see this blog!).

The mittens look wonderful! I envy the recipient. :)
And now a handbag...I clicked over to Knitpicks to see the finished one -- it is really pretty! Is it for yourself or someone else?
Great job on the mittens! And your garden pictures look beautiful:) I did get my help on the mitten and am now sewing it up! It looks cute!YAY! Now if I can make the 2nd one look the same...:)
Thanks for the compliments! I have enough wool to make a couple of the bags if I like the first one. I was thinking they could be the wrapping for an additional little gift tucked inside for Christmas or a birthday.
Shawn-I'm so glad to hear you've had success making your mitten! Wonderful!
