Last night, some of the cherries pitted yesterday became Cherry Shortcake, which we ate for dinner! Naughty, but irresistible! Having no will power, I used the shortcakes almost as soon as they were out of the oven and they were hot enough to start melting the whipped cream, as you can see in the picture.
Having not made a 'cherry' shortcake before, I followed this recipe.

Nothing wrong with a little dessert every now and then for mains. It looks so delicious!!
That's one of the best things about being a grownup -- eating dessert first! YUM!
I'd love to make a cherry pie.
I am saving that recipe! Stop and Shop had cherries on sale this week and I stocked up.
